Constantin Artachino (1870–1954) was a Romanian painter known for his vivid landscapes, portraits, and genre scenes that often depicted everyday life in rural Romania. Born in Craiova, Artachino studied at the Bucharest School of Fine Arts, where he was influenced by the Realist movement. He furthered his education in Paris, attending the Académie Julian, where he embraced the academic style and refined his technique under the mentorship of renowned artists like Jean-Paul Laurens. Artachino’s work is characterized by its attention to detail and vibrant use of color, reflecting both the influence of the French academic tradition and his Romanian roots. His landscapes often showcase serene rural environments, while his portraits capture the individuality and emotional depth of his subjects. As a member of "Tinerimea Artistică" (The Artistic Youth), he was part of a group of artists who aimed to modernize Romanian art while maintaining a connection to national themes and traditions.
